Meet Gina Majestro, PsyD, HSP, HSPP

Welcome! I am a psychologist located in Louisville, KY with 10+ years of clinical experience with individuals across the lifespan. Currently, I am only working with those ages 18 and up.
I am a West Virginia native (go Mountaineers!), mom, and wife. I work part-time in university counseling where I provide direct patient care and supervise graduate students. I enjoy spending time with my kids and husband, watching sports (while cheering a bit too loudly) and gardening (I'm grateful for a spouse who enjoys watering). I genuinely love my job and am passionate about educating the next generation of providers.
My work is heavily informed by research on the “living legacy” of trauma or how trauma impacts the mind and body, long after the event has ended. Beyond focusing on the narrative of a traumatic event, which when poorly timed can worsen symptoms, I work to help you regulate your nervous system and feel more present, connected, compassionate (its very common to hate the idea of compassion early on!) and in a mindset where you can start to live the life you want.
I don’t just work with PTSD. Stress impact the body in many ways. You may have been told you have complex trauma, dissociation, depression, bipolar, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, an eating disorder or life might just be hard right now. Folx that work with me often enter treatment feeling overwhelmed, shut down/disconnected, having mood swings, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems, negative views of yourself and/or intentionally harming yourself.
I know a strong collaborative alliance (working relationship) is at the heart of good therapy. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’d be a good fit.
